Kim Reilly Smith

Hi Everyone! It’s been wonderful reading all of your updates. After graduating college, I lived in Manhattan for ten years, then moved to Hoboken where I met my lovely husband. We married and have been living in Madison (NJ ) for 25 years, though we spent one year living in India, which was a huge adventure.

We have three excellent children, pictured here! (Although this photo is a few years old — I really need to take more.) Our oldest graduated from college two years ago and lives in Austin, Texas. Our middle is a senior in college and our youngest is a junior in high school, though goes to boarding school so we are empty nesters, which a few of you have also mentioned—It’s really tough, right? These days, we spend much of our time driving up to New England to watch hockey games and trying to convince all of our kids that we are cool and worth spending time with (mostly we resort to groveling and bribery).

I have spent the last few decades working in the beauty industry in just about every role possible, including as an editor at a few Condé Nast publications (way back when people read magazines printed on paper) and then in public relations at one of the Estée Lauder brands. I’ve consulted in marketing and brand identity and even owned a store in Madison for a few years that sold independent, small-batch, toxin-free skincare lines. Today, I work as a freelance copywriter for the few brands that will still have me, which keeps me busy.

Reading about all of you has had me reminiscing about Summit these many weeks. It was such a great place to grow up. Cheers to all of you (and to the far too many we’ve lost from our class).

Have a great time at the reunion – I’m missing this one, but will see you all at the next. 🙂
