It’s been fun seeing these updates. Great job, Beth. After college, I moved out west for six years of freelance writing and playing music. Then NYC for a career in advertising. But the moment I got off the van on my first commercial shoot, and I saw the set, the lights, the crew… I knew I wanted to be a director. It took seven years of ‘film school,’ watching every move of every director I worked with. I made the jump in 2004 and it’s been a blast. For the last 14 years, I’ve had the great fortune to shoot the Progressive Insurance commercials. Flo and the gang are a delight.
Recently I found my way back to music, started a little record company and a band. Field Trip’s first album is out now on Spotify and Apple Music if you feel like hearing some tunes with a 70s vibe (just can’t escape what made ya). You’ll even hear fellow Hilltopper, Brockett, who graciously lent his talents between Lady Gaga gigs!
Met a great girl from Iowa who also happened to fall for the film business. Life is fun, splitting time btw NY and southern California. If anyone finds their way out to Venice Beach or Palm Springs, hit me up. The desert, especially, is a great hang. Sorry to say I won’t be back east for the reunion. Looks like it’s gonna be a good one.
