Claire McDonough (Grenewald)

Somehow it’s been four decades since we graduated — which feels impossible because in my head I’m still 30 (just with better shoes and a much stronger opinion about wine).

After high school, I made my way to DC to work for the Clinton administration. I have never looked back, but I can tell you that working in politics isn’t a lot of fun right now. It’s like trying to play chess in a tornado. But I navigate the swamp with a sharp stick and a smile.

Currently, I am the Head of National Accounts at Sagac Public Affairs, where I lead strategic initiatives for PAC fundraising, advocacy, and political communications for Fortune 500 companies, national trade associations, and nonprofit organizations. I have also been very involved in mentoring young women who are starting their careers in DC, so that they get the help they need to push the patriarchy out of the way so they can pull a chair up to the table.

I married a boy from Clark who is my own personal Sheldon Cooper (Bob designs flags! He literally has fun with flags every day and is also an adorable pain in the ass). When you see the President on TV with all those fancy flags with gold trim, he made them.

When I’m not working, I’m usually planning my next trip somewhere, pretending to relax, and finding excuses to celebrate absolutely anything. You can always find a bottle of cold Veuve in my fridge. That is my super power. We don’t have kids, but we have a precocious pug named Noodles, and if we’re being honest, Bob and I are basically his staff.

Summit is never far from my heart as my great loves – Lanna, Mary, Sheila and Carmela still pull me back for shenanigans and keep me honest about who I am. I am blessed AF that I still count them as friends. You should ALWAYS have at least one Jersey girl to count on in life. I got FOUR.

Can’t wait to see everyone soon.
